Milkadamia Launches Innovative Flat Pack Oat Milk in the US

Milkadamia is revolutionizing the plant-based milk market with the launch of the first 2D-printed Flat Pack Organic Oat Milk in the US. Milkadamia’s Flat Pack debuted at the Newtopia Now trade show in Denver, Colorado at the end of August 2024; this new product represents a major advancement in sustainable packaging.

The Flat Pack Organic Oat Milk is created using a unique 2D-printing process that turns oat milk paste into ultra-light sheets, reducing packaging waste by 94% and product weight by 85%. Each Flat Pack contains eight sheets, which can be blended with water to make a total of half a gallon of fresh oat milk. This format not only extends shelf life but also allows consumers to customize portions as needed.

According to Jim Richards, CEO of Milkadamia, this innovative product aligns with the company’s commitment to sustainability, which stems from its origins as a family-owned macadamia farm focused on regenerative farming. The Flat Pack design supports the pre-cycling movement, which emphasizes reducing waste during manufacturing rather than relying on recycling after use. By minimizing packaging and transportation bulk, Milkadamia aims to lower ecological costs significantly.

While Milkadamia is the first to bring flat-pack plant-based milk to the US, Germany’s Veganz launched a similar product earlier this year. However, Milkadamia’s Flat Pack Organic Oat Milk is expected to hit US retail shelves and online stores by January 2025, joining the brand’s popular macadamia nut milk line available at major retailers like Whole Foods, Sprouts, and Target.

Richards emphasizes that the Flat Pack line marks a significant step towards reducing packaging waste and carbon emissions, underscoring Milkadamia’s dedication to responsible eco-stewardship and industry innovation.
